SIM owner details, honestly
Four official checks answer three questions. None of them tells you who owns somebody else's number, and any site claiming it does is selling you a fake. Here is what actually works, and the exact message to send.
PTA allows 8 SIMs on one CNIC: 5 voice and 3 data, across all five companies together.
What the real check looks like
668
4210112345678
PTA replies with a count per company: one line each for Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone and SCO. It publishes no sample reply, so any screenshot showing names or phone numbers is not from 668.
Check a number before you send anything
Type your own CNIC or any 11-digit mobile number. This works out what the number can tell you and prepares the official message for you. Nothing is uploaded, searched or stored: it runs entirely in your browser, and no site can tell you who owns a number that is not yours.
Dashes and spaces are ignored. Only your own CNIC gives you a SIM count.
Getting details…
- Contacting official PTA registry
- Verifying network database
- Matching CNIC records
- Preparing safe result
This can take up to 30 seconds. Nothing is stored.
Verify your own SIM in Pakistan
To check SIM details in Pakistan, send your 13-digit CNIC without dashes to 668 via SMS, or enter it on cnic.sims.pk. Both methods return how many SIMs are registered on your CNIC, company by company: Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone and SCO. Neither method reveals the owner name of a number that is not yours.
The official SIM check PTA runs works only for your own CNIC. Type the thirteen digits alone, with no dashes, no spaces and no words, and PTA replies with a count per company. This is the only lawful way to check SIM ownership details tied to your CNIC.
View All SIM Check SMS Codes668 SIM Check: Send Your CNIC to 668
The 668 SIM check is PTA's official SMS service: send your 13-digit CNIC without dashes to 668, and PTA replies with the number of SIMs registered on your CNIC per company. Charges may apply per PTA's latest notice. This works for your own CNIC only.
Open your phone's Messages app (not the dialler), type the thirteen digits alone, and send to 668. PTA's releases of 10 November 2023 and 31 December 2025 confirm no dashes or spaces are allowed. Repeated sends may each be charged.
A CNIC is not a search key.
It is the key other people would search with, which is why PTA returns the count to the card's owner and to nobody else.
Why there is no search box here
A registration record answers one question and it answers it to one person. Ask what is on your own CNIC and the state replies. Ask what is on somebody else's and there is no lawful answer a website can give you.
So this page has no box for a stranger's number. It has a checker that works out what a prefix and a CNIC mean on their own, and then hands you the official message to send.
| Check | What you send | What comes back | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| SMS 668 | Your 13-digit CNIC, no dashes | SIM count per company | PTA says charges may apply |
| cnic.sims.pk | Your CNIC plus a captcha | The same count, online | Free, lists no fee |
| SMS 667 | MNP from the SIM you hold | Name and CNIC on that SIM | Rs 2 plus tax on Jazz |
| SMS 76367 | N, a space, then 11 digits | The network name only | Rs 2 plus tax |
A number is an address, not a name
Calls used to be switched by an operator who knew the lines. Automatic switching turned a number into an address: a prefix that fixes the exchange, then a line within it. Pakistan's mobile numbering keeps that shape. The three digits after 03 fix the company, the rest fix the line.
It is why 76367 can name the network and nothing else. The address is public. The person who holds the line is not, and no switchboard has ever made it so.
Read it company by company
- Open Messages, not the dialler 668 is a short code for texts. Dialling it does nothing, and repeated sends may each be charged.
- Type the thirteen digits alone No dashes, no spaces, no words. PTA's releases of 10 November 2023 and 31 December 2025 all say so.
- Match the reply against your own list Routers, MiFis, tablets, trackers and old drawer SIMs all count, exactly like a phone.
- Disown anything that is not yours Take the original CNIC to that company's franchise and re-verify by fingerprint. Escalate to PTA on 0800-55055.
Each company runs its own channels
Prefixes tell you who issued a SIM. Helplines tell you who can fix it. The check itself is the same 668 everywhere.
- Jazz Jazz checks and swap rules
- Zong Zong checks and data SIMs
- Telenor Telenor checks and ports
- Ufone Ufone checks and franchise
- SCO & Onic SCO and Onic explained
The scam is the promise of a database
Sites and APKs that ask for a number and promise a name are not running a lookup. There is nothing to look up in public. They are collecting your CNIC, your contact list or your payment details, and the screenshot they show you was invented.
Report one to the NCCIA on 1799, which runs 24 hours a day, or to PTA on 0800-55055. Complaints also go through complaint.pta.gov.pk.
Looking someone else up is the offence
Section 16, PECA 2016Using another person's identity information without authorisation carries up to three years in prison, a fine of up to Rs 5 million, or both.
Checking your own SIMs is legal, free to start, and takes one text. That is the line every guide on this site holds to.

Questions people arrive here asking
How do I check sim owner details in Pakistan?
Send your 13-digit CNIC without dashes to 668, or enter it on cnic.sims.pk. Both return how many SIMs sit on your CNIC, company by company. To check the SIM currently in your phone, send MNP to 667.
How many SIMs can one CNIC hold?
Eight: five voice and three data, counted together across Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone and SCO.
Can I find who owns a number that is not mine?
No official service does this. You can learn which network a number is on, which is all 76367 returns. Anything offering a name is either invented or stolen, and using it can be an offence.
Is the 668 check free?
PTA's FAQ mentions no charge, but its latest notice says charges may apply, so check your network's SMS rate. The cnic.sims.pk website lists no fee.
What if the count includes a SIM I never bought?
Go to that company's franchise with your original CNIC and re-verify by fingerprint to disown it. If the franchise cannot resolve it, complain to PTA on 0800-55055.
About this guide
Chatcati is an independent information website about SIM registration and CNIC checks in Pakistan. We are not affiliated with PTA, NADRA, NCCIA or any mobile operator. Every figure here comes from an official PTA release, an operator's own published codes, or the text of PECA 2016.
We publish no tool that claims to identify a person. The checker on this page formats a number you already have and hands you the official message. It sends nothing anywhere.
